If you’re overweight don’t lift weights!
A lady approached me this morning at the gym
She said “Adriana:
I’ve heard that if you’re overweight..
you’re not supposed to lift weights”
She explained how a friend had told her that
“if you lift weight while holding excess fat
that fat will get hard and turn into muscle!”
What a myth!!!! And and absolute false statement!!!
Fat CANNOT convert into muscle…there’s just no way.
What happens to many people when they start lifting weights is this:
Muscles develop faster than the fat between the skin and the muscle
can be released
Therefore, for a short period of time
some people might feel as if their fat has gotten harder
and they feel as if they look bigger!
My advice is this:
Combine weights with cardio
and don’t expect quick fixes….
give your body time to burn the fat while training your muscles
so that you’ll have a beautiful physique to unveil…once the excess fat is gone!
