It’s time to Ditch the Pre Workout Stretch!

Many think that stretching before exercising is the way to go – but that isn’t the case! Actually, stretching before warming up could lead to severe muscular injuries. So, should you ditch the stretching all together? Absolutely NOT!

It’s the post-workout stretch that’s important to help prevent injuries and minimize aches.

Below are a few tips that can help:

  1. Start little by little: Begin stretching with a shorter range of motion, take a deep breath and as you let the air out stretch a little further.
  2. No bouncing: Use controlled, steady movements. Taking your time while stretching will definitely bring more benefits.
  3. Listen to your body: In most cases, your body is going to let you its natural limits. Don’t push yourself to hard but don’t over do it either.

Remember, stretching is always important! But, you want to do it in a safe and effective manner. So, do it after every workout and not prior.
