When you eat, your digestive system undergoes a tremendous amount of work in order to break down the food, take its nutrients and feed your body. Nutritious calories: Are good quality calorie filled with nutrients. When digested , they provide fuel and nutrients to the cells enhancing your body’s ability to perform and increasing your metabolic rate. The best to consume are: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, water, vitamins and minerals.
Empty calories: Are poor quality calorie. Their nutritional content is limited and/or inexistent. Since they have no dietary value, they are more likely to be stored in your body as excess and unnecessary fat. Does cellulite ring a bell?
